Wednesday, April 14 Association of Bridal Consultants Local Networking Group Meeting

The Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) will be having a local networking group meeting on Wednesday, April 14 at 10:30 am-12:30 pm at Ruth's Chris in Destin, FL. The cost of the meeting includes lunch. We are limiting this meeting to 50 attendees.

ABC is open to caterers, florists, wedding consultants, musicians, DJs, photographers - you name it! For those who have not been before, we normally have 80+ people in attendance! ABC has been hosting networking meetings in the Panhandle of Florida since November 2008.

Registration: Everyone that registers will receive a confirmation Email Monday, April 12.

Our speaker will be, Rollan Roberts II, owner and Founder of idream.

About the Speaker: Rollan grew up in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. Association of Bridal Consultants (ABC) Membership: We are encouraging wedding consultants/professionals in the area to join. We want to build a strong network in the area to pass business to back and forth. There are are annual dues of $195 for wedding vendors and $185 for novice wedding consultants and $265 for wedding consultants (this membership level is based on your educational credits and experience). ABC is open to caterers, florists, wedding consultants, musicians, DJs, photographers - you name it! For those who have not been before, we normally have 80+ people in attendance! ABC has been hosting networking meetings in the Panhandle of Florida since November 2008.

Our speaker will be, Renee Grannis, Master Bridal Consultant and ABC Director of Ethics and Compliance.

Registration: Everyone that registers will receive a confirmation Email Monday, February 8.

We will have free copies of Get Married, The Knot, Weddings Unveiled, and Southern Weddings Magazines at the meeting as well!

About the Speaker: Renee Grannis has been in the wedding industry since 1970. She formed a one-stop shop and operated out of Alabama, Massachusetts, Virginia, and Maryland. By the mid '80s, she had eight consultants and 28 vendors working for her. She joined the Association of Bridal Consultants in 1985 and became the Association's Education Director in 1988 and held that position until 2007. She has also been a state coordinator for Virginia and Texas. She is currently the Association's Director of Ethics and Compliance and is now forming partnerships across the country for educational aspects in the industry.

January 13 Association of Bridal Consultants meeting

We had a fantastic kickoff meeting for Mobile on Wednesday, January 13 at True Restaurant (which has amazing food, by the way). We had roughly 25 people in attendance. It was very informative for those who attended and I really appreciate everyone who came.

Thank you also to Calandra and Christy coming from Huntsville! We really appreciate that too! :)

The Mobile/Lower Alabama group will have their own leadership of co-directors. If you are interested in being a part of the leadership team or just helping out in Mobile/Lower Alabama, please let me know. I am sure they will also need help from venues, vendors, etc. as we do in Panhandle.

It was nice seeing a lot of new faces and I really hope to get to work with all of you.

I think we are off to a great start in Mobile/Lower Alabama. Looking forward to the next meeting in March 2010 in Mobile/Lower Alabama. :)

Emily Blunt Who? Michael Bublé Engaged

Emily Blunt isn't the only half of a former power couple to have moved on.

The Young Victoria star's former flame Michael Bublé is engaged as well.

The 34-year-old Canadian crooner is betrothed to 22-year-old Argentinian actress Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre, who he's been dating since November 2008, his rep, Liz Rosenberg, confirms to E! News. The pair met at a party following one of his concerts in her hometown.

"Michael proposed to his girlfriend, Luisana, in November in front of her family in Argentina," Rosenberg tells People. "They're ecstatic. They're adorable, in love and laugh all day long." No date has been set.

The bride-to-be stars in a popular South American soap opera and in Bublé's recent video for "Haven't Met You Yet."

Bublé was once engaged to singer-actress Debbie Timuss, but the pair split in 2005. He and Blunt dated for two years before calling it quits in 2008.
